Use Your Neighbors to Grow Your Tourism

Travel Conference speaker to share tools for building partnerships

LINCOLN, NEB. (Oct. 3, 2011) — Every community shares tourists with other areas and attractions, and smart communities understand that partnerships can lead to tourism success.

At this year’s Nebraska Travel Conference, internationally known speaker Barbara Wold will provide the tools today’s communities need to develop those essential long-term partnerships. Wold is an authority on the retail, consumer and tourism industries, who uses humor and real-life examples to illustrate her practical points. In her engaging seminar, “Promoting Partnerships: Using Your Neighbors to Grow Your Tourism,” participants will share ideas and resources, and discover creative cross-marketing concepts that will grow tourism.

Wold also will present “Strategies for a Changing World: How to Prosper in Today’s Economy,” which will teach ways to foster customer loyalty and expand business in a down economy.

The 36th annual Nebraska Travel Conference will be Oct. 18-20 at the Ramada Plaza Omaha Hotel and Convention Center – CoCo Key Water Resort, 3321 S. 72nd St. The media is welcome to cover any of the sessions. Wold will speak at 11:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The conference will also offer a session on agri-culinary tourism at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. Lovoni Walker, host of the national Canadian cooking show “Simple, Fresh, Delicious” on the Oprah Winfrey Network, will demonstrate how merging agri-tourism and culinary tourism can entice people to an area.
