My Blue Heaven B&B

My Blue Heaven Bed and Breakfast is celebrating its 30th year of being in business!!  Come and help me celebrate. I now have WiFi for you.

The 1920's home has lots of antiques, quilts and handiwork.  You will have a restful quiet night of sleep. The bathroom has just recently been renovated with a large step in shower, new lavatory, toilet and other accessories. Get up to a hot full breakfast served in the dinning room when you like.  If the hostess knows far enough in advance that you are coming, you will have a choice of breakfast.  One choice is an upside down banana french toast recipe that was a winner at the 2009 NABB Conference.  Yvonne can make dietary accommodations if she knows ahead of time.

There are flavored coffees and teas available to you.  A piano is in the living room along with the TV and DVD player if you like to use them.

If you just want to lay back and relax, there is a front porch swing where you can watch the birds and squirrels.  If you like to walk, there is a trail through town. Pawnee county is the second best place in Nebraska to view the stars.Binoculars are not even needed to see them.

In Pawnee City there are two museums.  One is the Peddle Clinic which is renovated pedal cars and tractors of which there are 500 of them in a renovated church.  Another museum is the Pawnee City Historical Society & Museum with 22 buildings full of memorabilia.  Larry the Cable Guy's barn is located there along with Governor Butler's home, U.S. Senator Kenneth Wherry's library, homebuilt airplane, 1600 salt and pepper shakers and lots more.  The children will enjoy grinding corn into cornmeal, dressing up in pioneer clothing and doing scavenger hunts.  There is another Museum open by appointment called Rinne's toys & Dolls Collectibles Museum.
SchillingBridge Winery and Microbrewery are open Wednesday through Sunday for your enjoyment.  Go to their website for special events and nights.

Agri Tours maybe available at the bison farm and sustainable farm.  There are 35 families of Amish living in the near countryside that have stores, greenhouses, carpentry shop, harness shop.

There are more museums in two other towns close by.  Check it out on  So make your call and come for a mini vacation.
