The Kaley House is the perfect accommodation during your visit to Historic Red Cloud and the Willa Cather Foundation sites - as well as a place to gather with friends or family, enjoy a round of golf, take a scenic bike ride, or spend that special weekend getaway. Come relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings in a beautifully restored 1886 Victorian home with all of the modern conveniences, and wake each morning to the smell of freshly ground coffee and your homemade continental breakfast. Treat yourself to a bygone era of comfort and hospitality.
You can choose from our three bedrooms with private bathrooms and enjoy the beautifully refurbished features of the home's three lovely parlors, a fireplace, a dining room, a new kitchen, and Wi-Fi throughout the home.
The Master Suite boasts a king-sized, four poster bed with a comfy down duvet. At the end of the room just above the long windows looking out onto the "widow's walk", is a colored-glass half-circle window. The room features an antique Singaporean armoire, Oriental rugs, and an Art Deco Chinese tea table set with inlaid marble. Modern aspects include a flat-screen TV, a ceiling fan, and streaming music that you can adjust to your preferred volume. The burgundy walls of the sun-filled en-suite bathroom compliment the marble wainscot. Step out of the glass-and-marble shower or the large jetted soaking tub onto the heated Italian marble floor. A flat-screen TV, oscillating Matthews fan, fluffy white towels, adjustable streaming music, blow dryer, shampoo and shower gel await you.
The "Quality Street" Loft Bedroom has a stunning four-post, full-sized brass bed with mother-of-pearl inlay accompanied by a plush mattress and a down duvet. The 18-foot-high ceiling makes way for a comfy reading loft accessed by a rolling library ladder, and a lovely double-hung colored-glass window. Singaporean antiques decorate the room along with a flat-screen TV, a ceiling fan, a niche closet, and streaming music you can adjust to your preferred volume. The sunny en-suite bathroom has a heated marble floor, a glass shower, a pedestal sink, wall-mounted fan, fluffy white towels, blow dryer, shower gel and shampoo.
Dora's Room has a queen-sized, brushed nickel sleigh bed outfitted with a comfy mattress and a down duvet. Above the bed is a colored-glass, half-circle window. In addition to the Venetian mirror, Oriental rugs, and other unique pieces of furniture, this cozy bedroom has a flat-screen TV, a ceiling fan, and streaming music that you can adjust to your preferred volume. The private bathroom for Dora's Room is located on the main floor and is accessed via the back stairway or the main staircase. This sunny room has a leaded glass window above the white marble tile walls surrounding the deep bathtub - which can also be used as a shower. Conveniences include the heated basket-weave marble floor, wall-mounted fan, fluff white towels, blow dryer, shower gel and shampoo, in addition to the triple-mirrored wall cabinet above the pedestal sink.
Unwind on the front porch in the wicker rocking chairs, or enjoy your morning coffee on the porch just off the dining room while relaxing in the Paris bistro dining set. Enjoy one of the three parlors - read a book or visit in the Front Parlor, enjoy a beverage or board game at the marble top cafe' table or sit in front of the fire in the Fireplace Parlor, or catch up on your favorite cable shows on the big screen TV in the North Parlor. Our aim is to make your stay as relaxing or as exciting as you wish.
